30 Days of Hymns, the Sacred Triad, the Morrigan #3: fairy

Hail, Queen of Ageless Forests
away to the land of fairy
I shall follow ever after you
Hail, Queen of stolen children
a court of misbegotten orphans
swarms about your knees
fierce and feral
protecting their mother
Hail, Queen of InBetween places
Lady of the Margins
Lord of the Edge
I see you
never head on
always a dark flitting
in the corner of my eye
I hear you
never directly
always a whisper
said in darkest night
to the deepest part of my soul:

Come away, o human child,
Let me teach you the truest sovereignty of your broken self
Let me teach you to speak to the land
for the land is your body
your bones
your blood
for the land is my love
my anger
my heart

Come away, o human child
Let me stoke the rage deep within you
let me hone your fury to a killing point
Let me teach you how to bleed it out
let it spill
over those who have wronged you
let it seep into them
let it awaken their own rage
let it draw them away
to my hidden lands

Come away, o human child
come and learn the fairy songs
come and march the fairy marches
line up with my troops, o human child,
and march upon an oppressive mortal hierarchy

Come away, o human child,
learn our secrets
never die
never age
in fairy be ye born again
another of my orphans
ready to take up sword and shield
ready to fight, o human child, for the abandoned
for the misbegotten
the forgotten
the hated and reviled and spat upon
the cowless
the starving
the dying
the beaten
the downtrodden
ready to fight for all the ones who come home to me,
never missed by their mortal families

Come away, o human child,
come to the embrace of your true family
fairy will never turn away the broken
the disenfranchised
the sure to die
the lonely
the huddled masses

Come away, o human child,
relearn of your mother the earth
come and rest in her solid embrace
let your wounds seep blood into her flesh
let her dirt stop up
what would be a killing blow
let yourself become one
with the forest

Come away, o human child
let fairy teach you
what it is to be human.

Hail, Queen of Ageless Forests
Hail, Queen of Stolen Children
Hail, Lord of the Edge
Lady of the Margins
Hail to you, we sing your praises
marching as one
into mortal lands
to reclaim
what was lost.

She of the Gleaming Edge

Glory to Morrigan
Eidolon sovereign
of blooded battlefields
Rich soil, soaked through.
Everything grows where death walked.
Queen of the Cycle
Rebirthing yourself anew
Year after year
day after day
my devotion grows
out of blood-soaked clay
Shall I offer whiskey,
that you may sleep and leave the world in peace?
No
I think I shall offer coffee
That you may have the energy
to do what needs to be done
Shining edge, gleaming steel
cuts away what doesn’t belong
It’s finished now
It’s done.
